FICDO's Environmental Initiatives aim at creating awareness as well as taking local actions to tackle the root causes of
climate change at a community level. We promote and partake in conservation, greening and tidy town initiatives and
advocate for healthy living.
Most recently, in August 2022, we led a successful campaign in coordination with local businesses and authorities to
plant 20 thousand tree seedlings
at selected sites in Fitche Town. Tens of Addis Ababa City residents joined thousands of Fitche Town residents got together for the event.
The annual event, which is in its fourth year, is also an opportunity for all stakeholders in our community to come together and discuss
development plans issues of common concerns. Before FICDO took over the overall organisation, the annual event had been organised by individual
members of the community.
